"GENDER ROLES" by earthshakerbooks on May 5, 2009, 7:55 pm, in category General
You guys probably are wondering, "What do great authors do with their spare time?"  Well, among other things, we cook stuff.  Yes, the widely known author of the ZAN-GAH series likes to cook.  Lately I made a pot roast that was to die for!  Everybody enjoyed it.  Chuck roast, a rather tough cut of meat, takes three hours to cook to tenderness.  I include onions, potatoes, and carrots, and a bunch of other things to make it savory.  Then there is my new carrot and ginger soup, which is as admired as my writing—and so is that splendid soup of my own invention, potato cauliflower.  I know, it sounds a little dull.  The proof is in the eating!  But do manly men cook?  Isn't that "women's work"?  I assure you that it isn't.  Many of the world's greatest chefs are men.  But frankly, I don't give a darn if it is considered to be the provence of women.  If Pax, Zan's wife, can carry a spear and go hunting, as she does in my new sequel, ZAN-GAH AND THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY, I can cook what she brings home!    I don't believe in gender roles.
