Did you ever do anything that you were proud of? All my life I have been trying (just once!) to do something that I was really proud of. I was proud of some of my paintings, but not many. When I was giving art history lectures, once in a while I was really impressed with myself.
Tell you what. I am really proud of my Zan-Gah books. I reread them occasionaly (alright, every darned week) and I think to myself: "These are quite good. It is only a matter of time until the world finds out what exciting and cool stories these are." Then I think: "Naahhh." Then I think......... Then I think........... I won an award quite lately that I am very proud of. It's the Mom's Choice Gold Award for Young Adult Series "for excellence." Mom's Choice is an organization that gives gold or silver awards to books and other products that they think are good for families.
I could have told you that the Zan-Gah series is good for families. Kids that don't like to read anything find themselves reading Zan-Gah. So do the strong readers. And I pride myself that they are books that a parent can read and enjoy with his kid. I'm a great believer in reading along with (not just to) your kids.
So I'm proud, proud, proud! Now I want to be rich, rich, rich! Comments
